Potassium Nitrate

Also known as saltpetre. A naturally occurring mineral source of nitrogen. Uses: Fertilizer, in amateur rocket propellant, fireworks, food preservation, cigarettes, tree stump remover, solvent in metal treatment, in the manufacture of ice cream, in some toothpastes, and is one of the 3 components of black powder.
