Phosphoric acid is a mineral acid that is either a white solid or a colorless, viscous liquid. The term phosphoric acid can refer to a variety of compounds, a chemical or a reagent that mainly consists of phosphoric acids. Uses: Used directly to convert rust to a water-soluble phosphate compound, food grade phosphoric acid is used to acidify foods, in dentistry to clean and roughen the surface of teeth, and in OTC anti-nausea medications.
