N-Methyl Pyrrolidone
NMP is a water-like liquid with a mild amine odor. It is stable and soluble in water. Materials to avoid are strong oxidizing or reducing agents. Uses: In commercial processes to strip paint, in the electronics industry for cleaning and degreasing silicon wafers, in immersion and ultrasonic equipment to clean engine parts, remove printing ink residues, and as a solvent for surface coatings.
