TRI has spent the better part of the last year traveling to various industry, regulatory, and educational events; and in the facilities of their customers and suppliers with a focus on solving the challenges their partners are faced with day-to-day.
TRI’s Director of Marketing, Jennifer Calvery writes: “Not only were new ideas and solutions generated for our partners, our staff was able to turn each trip into an educational experience for themselves. They deepened the knowledge of specific industries they work in, gained better understanding of their customers and suppliers business and products, improved their communication skills and created lasting impressions.
We’d like to highlight a few of our staff, recognize them for their dedication and share a few of their personal experiences:
In April, our Customer Service Coordinator for the Mid-South and Southwest, Kara Anderson, spent three days on the road in Texas with our Southwest Sales Manager and Oil & Gas Industry Lead, Chris Karber, meeting with various customer accounts—Kara sums it up with “What I have never had the chance to do until now, is meet face to face and see that these daily contacts are truly remarkable people with real activities, families, passions, jokes and stories. Meeting our customers and vendors, has put the fun and spirit back into my daily work. Eating Texas brisket and bacon wrapped jalapenos is life changing – now I just need to find someone to take me line dancing!”
Both of our Purchasing Agents had the opportunity to travel with our sales staff to see both sides of our business in new ways: Kelsey Smith visited Pittsburgh, PA with our Vice President of Sales, John Godina to meet with one of our top suppliers, Lanxess and says ‘The most interesting aspect of this trip was being able to sit down with a worldwide leader of Benzyl Alcohol and discuss the global market in its entirety. The conversation led by Laxness’s members from Germany elevated beyond the US market.” Steven Cole made the trip to Charlotte, NC with Northeast Sales Manager, Rich McNamara to visit with customers where he gained a deeper understanding of the customer’s needs and strategies for gathering and sharing of information.
Most recently, our Operations Manager, Michelle Connor, took the opportunity at the NACD, ChemEdge in Nashville to not only take part in the safety and distribution aspects of the meeting, but to visit with crucial customer and service accounts to develop the future of our business; while our General Manager & General Counsel, Megan E. Gluth, Esq., participated in the Regulatory Affairs matters.
