Sorbic Acid
A natural organic compound that was first isolated from the unripe berries of the Rowan plant. It is less soluble in water than the salts. It should not be confused with other chemically unrelated, though similarly named additives such as sorbitol, polysorbate, or ascorbic acid. Uses: A preservative in food and drinks to prevent mold, yeast, and fungi, and as a bio descaling agent. CAS# (110-44-1)
