Paraffin Wax, Chlorinated
Chlorinated Paraffin Wax (CPs) are widely used in various industries throughout the world and needed where chemical stability is highly desired. Applications include industrial cutting fluids, particularly in the manufacture of automobiles and automobile part; cutting oils, as a plasticiser for binders and resins in the manufacturing of commercial paints, adhesives, sealant and caulks; as a secondary plasticiser in flexible PVC compounds notably cable, footwear, hosing, conveyor belting, coated fabric and profiles; in textiles for carpets, carpet backing, tarpaulins and tents; as a stabilizers and inorganic fire retardants; and an excellent carrier for powders such as pigments. It is insoluble in water but soluble in ether, benzene, and certain esters. Variations include: Short-chain (C 10-13), Intermediate-chain (C 14-17), Long-chain (C 18-28), Wax (C 22-30).
